The Phone Call screens in New Zealand

We are very happy to announce our inclusion in this year’s New Zealand film festival Show Me Shorts! It runs 6th – 23rd of November.

Shortlist Film Fest Finalists

We have the great honour of THE PHONE CALL being selected as one of 12 finalists in The Shortlist Film Festival, run by TheWrap (Hollywood’s top online film industry portal, with a huge worldwide readership). The finalists in this competition have all won major film festivals (ours being Tribeca, Aspen, Krakow and Dresden). 

Shortlist Film Festival is incredibly high-profile (in association with Youtube, MTV and Epix)  – opening our film to a truly global audience and placing it in the hallowed Academy’s consciousness…

Wow Wow Wow! We are very proud to announce that last night we won the Silver Dragon for ‘Best Short Fiction Film’ at the 54th Krakow Film Festival

Thank you very much Krakow and special thanks to the jury consisting of Wojciech Marczewski, Giannalberto Bendazzi, Illia Gladshtein, Katrine Kiilgaard and Cinzia Spironello.

Also special thanks to BFI and British Council Film for supporting us at this festival.

The Phone Call gets rock 'n' roll!!

The Phone Call is increasing it’s rock ‘n’ roll credentials by screening at this weekend’s Latitude Festival on Sunday 20th, as part of the London Short Film Festival pop up! Details can be clicked on below.

Director Mat Kirkby says he’ll see you at the front of Black Keys, as well as the screening!


Filmfestival Kitzbuhel selection

We have one other equally amazing festival screening in August – being Filmfestival Kitzbühel high up in the beautiful Austrian Alps!

The Phone Call film festivals in May 2014

Off the back of our tremendous win at Tribeca Film Festival, we are gearing up for a number of great film festivals over the summer.

In MAY we will be screening at:

Internationales Filmfest Emden/Nordeney – 9th & 10th

Seattle International Film Festival – 7pm, 22nd (opening night)

Krakow Film Festival – 10pm 26th & 3pm 28th

We are excited to be screening at these film festivals and hope you and your friends will have an opportunity to see The Phone Call. Later summer dates to follow!




Festival des Films du Monde in Montreal!!

Montreal, we are coming for you! We have been selected for Festival des Films du Monde in Montreal – August 21st – September 1st 2014.

The Phone Call screens for British Council

The Phone Call is screening for the British Council’s Shorts Scheme networking event tonight. It is screening specifically to highlight the necessity of strong casting. 

The Phone Call gets down at Cinema Jam

Very happy to screen especially for Cinema Jam, here in London tonight. Cinema Jam is an opportunity for film professionals to get together, watch new work, be merry and talk all things film. We’re so there!



We are very happy to announce The Phone Call picked up 2 awards at Aspen Shortsfest 2014. It picked up a Audience Special Recognition and the Youth Jury Prize. We are honoured to be recognised by the good people of Aspen and Aspen Film in such a way. Thanks for having us!!


In competition at Tokyo Short Shorts

The Phone Call is making its way over to the Far East, in competition at the Academy Award qualifying Tokyo Short Shorts. It will be a great honour to screen in Japan. The Festival is end of May, we’ll keep you posted on screening dates.



We have the great honour of being selected for this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. 

We will be screening 18th, 22nd, 24th and 27th of April on the ‘Handle With Care’ programme. Times and venues to follow.

Fingers crossed for Sally Hawkin's Oscar bid!

‘The Phone Call’ filmmakers have everything crossed for Sally’s Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Blue Jasmine’. Its a strong year and tough competition but we are so happy for Sally to get this well deserved nomination. Have a great night Sally!

Carmen's beautiful 'Take This Dance' release

We are very proud to share the news that Carmen’s ‘Take This Dance’ is being primed for release on the 28th of March. As you may know this song features in The Phone Call and is an invaluable component in making the film so very emotional. We will post details of where you can purchase the single in due course but we can share with you now the song to listen to on Soundcloud:


Dresden Dolls - April 2014

We are happy to announce The Phone Call has been selected for competition at Dresden Filmfest 2014. 

The highly regarded short film festival runs April 15th – 20th  and it will be the German Premiere for The Phone Call.

Miami Heat!

The Phone Call is getting ready for competition at the Miami Film Festival. 

The film will screen Sunday 9th of March, 7.15pm at the Regal Beach Cinemas – on the PAPI Shorts Competition: Programme 2.


We look forward to screening in Miami, a city of rich film & television history.

London Short Film Festival 2014

The Phone Call screens at this year’s London Short Film Festival this Saturday (January 11th) at the marvelous ICA. The film screens on the “Femmes Fantastique” programme, alongside a number of other fantastic shorts. Fantastic indeed!

Audience Award Leeds Film Festival 2013
